Rescue Me ID: 15-05-16-00199Max (male)

Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Max is such a Sweety. I've never seen him aggressive ever! Dec 2013 He started experiencing a 20 second seizure every 3-4 weeks. Vet put him on Phenylbarbatol. He still had seizures monthly but not as bad. we took him off the drug. Testing and Meds got too expensive plus we are too active to med a dog every 12 hrs and didn't like the idea of liver damage so I took him off the phenyl over a month ago. I figured a seizure once a month manageable. He was doing fine until a couple of days ago. He's having several a day. Pees when he does (keep a diaper on him which helps). We would like to find a home for him with ... (Read More)someone willing to work with managing seizures. Otherwise healthy. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-15-00641BEANS! (male)

Shih Tzu    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

SEEKING A LOVING PERSON OR FAMILY FOR A SWEET LOVING LITTLE GUY THAT IS FULL OF BEANS! Beans was found wandering on a country road...probably dumped. He was at a high kill shelter soaked in his own urine and filthy, when he met Saving Grace Rescue owner. Beans was named that because he is FUN and FULL OF BEANS! He would do well with kids to play with and is a sturdy little dog rough and tumble. He gets along well with the dogs here large and small. He IS the alpha however and would do best with other submissive dogs. He is a typical Shih tzu; brave and tenacious. Look them up before you adopt one...they are full of it and ... (Read More)courageous to say the least. He thinks NOTHING of taking on a large German Shepherd if he has taken his squeeky toy! And Beans loves his squeeky toy! Beans will need to be an indoor dog that has a fenced yard. It would be great if he had some kids to play with (kids that respect and know how to treat dogs) and be buddies with. He would also do well with another playful dog. Beans is the cutest little guy you've ever seen. He has huge brown eyes that will melt your heart. He will need grooming every couple of months and to have his ears cleaned often as with all that hair over his ears he can get ear infections easily. I don't think he has lived in the house before coming here and initially had some marking issues. That seems to be abating now but you will have to watch for that and retrain as necessary. Of course being a rescue there are or have been many dogs here so there are many smells that need covering up too! When adopting a dog you must realize that many of these dogs have been mistreated and at the very least abandoned. It will take a period of adjustment for them to learn what is expected of them; where to go potty and how things work in your home. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for this adjustment and realize that your routine will be upset. Having a new dog in the house is a lot like having a new baby; a lot of work and adjustment. Some people do not realize this. Beans has been well socialized; loves all new people and is super friendly. He is the first dog to hop up next to me to snuggle in the bed or on the couch. He loves to be petted and loved on. Beans is in the Yakima Valley which is about 3 hours from Yakima. References will be called and a home visit made if possible. Please contact us for an application if interested in Beans. (Less)

Shih Tzu    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Hi! My name is Princess, and I am a six year old female Shih Tzu. I came to Valhalla Canine Rescue from the Olympic Animal Sanctuary in Forks. The folks at Valhalla are pretty sure I had it rough at OAS, and everyone says I deserve to have a great home of my own - could that be with you? I am a great dog - I love going for walks, and love affection. I would do best with someone who is home a lot, so they can spend a lot of time with me. I would probably be happiest being the only pet in the house, but may do well with another small, male dog. If you want to meet me, visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at - once ... (Read More)our adoption coordinator receives your application, we will set up an appointment for you to meet the dog of your choice. THANK YOU FOR SAVING THE LIFE OF A RESCUE DOG (Less)

He is a very good dog but needs to be with someone more than we can provide. We will be relocating and we need to find him a good home. He has to take a pill everyday to help calm his skin but other than that he loves baths, boating, walks, car rides and lots of love.
