ALL ABOUT ME!!! Name: Watson Breed: Shih-Tzu Birthdate: 9/7/13 Height: est 14 inches Weight: 19 pounds Good with dogs? Not really, I would be best as your only doggie Good with men? Yes Good with women? Yes House trained? Appears to be with encouragement-will also use a pee pad Must have fenced in yard? Yes, as I like to chase cars Foster home is: Anne in Asheville, NC Adoption fee: $275.00 Why am I with a rescue group? I have been living in a home with other doggies and I want to be the only dog in your home. Other dogs can be scary sometimes, so I am the happiest when I am your only pup. If I see a doggie on a walk, that is okay, I just don't want to share my home. I am leash trained and housetrained (since I am still young, I need to be encouraged when I go outside). I know how to 'sit' and 'stay' and I love to play with my humans. I like to be held, but would rather just lay next to you in the chair or on the couch. Watson was born at CPR to a shih tzu seized along with 200 +/- other dogs from a breeder bust in Anderson, SC . He was originally adopted out to a family with several other doggies. Unfortunately, things happen and as he grew up, he became very unhappy living in a home with siblings. If you are looking for a sharp little boy to fill your life and heart then I am your guy! Please see our ideal puppy criteria below and if that is you, please go to our web page and apply--hope to see you soon! Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. If you are interested in providing a home for me, please complete our Adoption Application. (Both online and downloadable applications are available.) Also as with all of our fosters we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. We do what is best for the pets. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-06-00397Chewy (female)
Chewy is still waiting for the right family. She has been adopted and returned several times due to her medical concerns. She is a great little dog who is calm, already house trained, and good with other dogs and cats. She has skin disease and dry eye (lack of tear production) that is under control with medication. As long as she gets her meds, she is a happy and sweet dog. She is crate trained and very laid back. She gets along with other dogs and cats. Chewy is staying in a cage right now at our office, as her last foster owner was no longer able to keep her. She hates being in that cage and is so hoping for someone to at least foster her! We provide all her food and medication/vet care while she is fostered. Please contact us today if you can foster or adopt her! She is located in Seneca, SC. Adoption fee is $250, which includes a $200 vet care credit at the hospital associated with our rescue. Apply to foster or adopt at www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. If you cannot adopt but would like to help, consider sponsoring a pet by donating through the "sponsor a pet" button. This money will help us provide for this pet and others - even a small donation goes a long way towards helping us save more pets! Please email or call us at (864)972-9994 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligibile for 25% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org and email it to email@example.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and offiicially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-22-00274Eddie (male)
Breed:Lhasa apso/Shih tzu Gender: Male Adoption Fee: $225 Date into Rescue: 5/10/2013 Reason for being in rescue: Eddie was adopted out of the Greenville shelter, and then returned later for resource guarding his new 'mom' Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yes Weight: Est 23 lbs Height: Est 15 ' What is my personality like? Eddie is a sweetheart, and a fast learner. He caught on to our routine here at the farm with ease, and has really been a good boy for us. Eddie is highly energetic and needs to find someone who can keep up with him and help him control his behavior. He calms down wonderfully while indoors. Eddie is both leash trained and crate trained, and he rides well in a car. He does okay with most dogs, however he prefers to be the only dog in someones home, so that he can have all of the attention - which he truly deserves! Eddie has snapped at our caregivers on multiple occasions, however he has never broken the skin or done any damage. He has attitude, and we are looking for someone who is willing to take on a challenge! Who I am seeking: Eddie is looking for an experienced female who lives alone. He is looking for someone active, perhaps a runner or a jogger. Eddie would be wonderful at going on trips, he is always ready to hop in and ride along. At this time we feel his only true behavioral problem is resource guarding the one he loves the most. We are looking for a female because he seems to like them a little more than men. For the most part he does great with everyone. Age: Est 4 years old Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them! Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Shih Tzu in South Carolina
Shih Tzu Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Shih-Tzu is a toy breed similar to the Pekingese. Shih-Tzus are proud little dogs and loaded with personality. Shih-Tzus are gentle and do fine with children who are taught to respect the dogs. Shih-Tzus bark to announce people approaching their homes. Shih-Tzus need early obedience training and may require patience when housebreaking. A Shih-Tzu will do just fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise.
