We have been fostering Lance for about 8 months now. I was told that he is a purebred Shih Tzu. He was in pretty sorry shape when we took him in. He was malnourished and had skin and eye problems. He has been diagnosed with canine conjunctivitis and will need eye drops daily. A regular diet and lots of medicated shampoo and he is a completely different little guy now. He does display some dominant behavior but is not aggressive. He is very shy. He is housebroken but does occasionally mark in our furnished basement when we aren't looking. Hello sorry I don't have a way to uploads pics of Sam right now but he is a white shih tzu with black markings we usually keep him short because he tends to get matted when he is due for a cut. So what can I say...Sam is a good dog and has been good with kids but we have another shih tzu since a puppy and we took in Sam last year from a friend the only issue she had was potty troubles but with us he just seem to get along with others in his space. Shih Tzu Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Shih-Tzu is a toy breed similar to the Pekingese. Shih-Tzus are proud little dogs and loaded with personality. Shih-Tzus are gentle and do fine with children who are taught to respect the dogs. Shih-Tzus bark to announce people approaching their homes. Shih-Tzus need early obedience training and may require patience when housebreaking. A Shih-Tzu will do just fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise.
