Rescue Me ID: 14-04-24-00113Molly (female)

Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Molly! Molly came to her foster home from a high kill shelter in Chicago after she was picked up as a stray. Molly was extremely depressed and had lost a lot of weight. She spent much of her first week at her foster home sleeping. Her foster mom had to feed her beef baby food through a syringe so that she would keep her weight up. The vet also discovered that Molly had a severe ear infection and her ears were completely swollen shut, most likely due to an allergy. Luckily, Molly hit the jack pot of foster homes! Her foster mom has had her for about a month and a half now and she is striving! She has gained weight; she is now ... (Read More)about 7 lbs. Even though Molly is 6 years old, after time, her spunky and energetic personality has emerged. She is a real hoot to watch. So why you ask is she for adoption?! Well, if it weren't for her determination to chase the resident cats all the time, her foster mom would surely keep her! Unfortunately, the cats do not like that too much! Molly has had a dental cleaning, she has 1 missing tooth on the bottom jaw but it doesn't impact her ability to eat crunchy food. She is currently on a completely grain free diet, which will need to be continued after her adoption so that she does not develop the allergy symptoms she came with. Molly's foster mom believes she has had babies in her past. She is very sweet with her stuffed toys and often likes to carry them around the house (sometimes outside on her walks!) and arrange them in her bed and lick them. Molly is an alpha female. While she does live with a foster dog sister, she would prefer to have all of the attention completely to herself. She may also do well with a small male dog. Molly needs to have someone who is home most of the day in her new home. She craves attention and is a great little lap dog. She walks fantastically on a leash and enjoys going for short walks to investigate. She is crate trained though she would prefer to be with you and sleep in your bed at night. Molly is up to date on all her vaccinations, microchipped, and has been spayed. Molly will need to be groomed several times a year. If you think this little sweetheart could earn a spot in your heart, please fill out an application to meet her! (Less)
