My name is oreo. I am a purebred shih tzu. I am 6 years old. I was rescued from a family who couldn't take care of me any longer. I spent most of my life in a bathroom alone. I am very sweet and love to be pet and loved on. I am a little shy at first until I get comfortable. I am good with dogs my size but am a little scared of big dogs. I love to lay in my crate and just hang out. I need to be a inside outside lap doggie. I don't have high energy. I am utd on shots and microchipped. If interested in adopting me please leave a name and number. My adoption fee is 350.

Meet Nickolas Cage. This little man is a 7 to 10 yr. old Shih-Tzu. He is about 10 to 12 lb. Nickolas loves to snuggle and plays with toys very well alone. He gets around well with one eye and almost blind in the other. He goes out with the pack after he learns the route. This little man needs a very special home. To apply to adopt, go to brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.weebly.com and fill out an adoption application.

|Rescue Me ID: 16-04-23-00006Sebastian (male)|
Sebastian just got pulled from Douglasville Animal control where he was impounded as a stray. He was severely matted. He has only one eye and in that one he is blind as well. We guess he is about 5.. He is great with other dogs, kids and people and very calm and laid back. He loves to snuggle. When you clap in your hands he will actually come up on your legs and wants to be held. He gets around very well and enjoys a nice day out side in the yard and follow his human everywhere.. He has so much fun and energy and believe it or not ... being blind is not a problem for him at all. He runs and plays just like everyone else. This boy is a joy to have around. Sebastian is also on seizure medication. He had in the past a few seizures but since he is medicated, which is one pill twice a day his seizures are totally under control and didn't happen anymore. We understand that this can sound a lot but once you meet this little guy he will melt your heart with his happy and spunky personality that you just can't help but falling in love. Sebastian is very very special and a trooper. He never has a bad day. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE!!! If you would like to meet Sebastian please send us a message in order to receive an application. We are only able to meet with pre approved applicants since our organization is operating on foster homes only. His adoption fee is $ 250 which includes all his vaccines, heartworm test, neuter , micro chip and a full bottle of his medication. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-03-31-00096Sam- Sammie-Sambo (male)|
It's with a heavy heart that I post this. I'm looking for a new home for Sam, my shih-tzu. I started as his foster, adopted him and now the dynamics aren't working. He loves to cuddle, loves car rides, sticks close if he isn't on a leash, is leash trained and loves walks, is crate trained and loves others dogs. He especially loves playing with my 40 lbs mixed breed Millie. He is loyal to his owner and again is just a sweet heart. The challenge is that he seems to have been abandoned and free for most of his life. The vet believes he was approx 1 years old when i rescued him. He is a boy, so he marks. I use a belly band on him indoors, but he still lifts his leg to mark. I have found his private areas are sensitive because he wears his belly band so much and it's just not fair to him. I have tried everything, but he wants to go out in the middle of the night. He is fine while I am gone in his crate and without his belly band, but when I'm around its too much. My other two are housebroken and I have worked hard to correct Sam's issues but i have given it 8 months with no luck. His dream home would be on land or a large acreage lot with other animals and/or dogs where he can freely run around and have no worry about marking. At night and during cool and cold weather, he would have a warm place to sleep. I want to find a home that will keep him current on his shots, give him his monthly flea, tick and heart-worm meds. Also, he has very thick hair and he has to have his summer do (shave) in summer to keep him cooler and from over heating. In other words, someone that will give him lots of love but be able to work with his marking. He would be a perfect partner for someone who had a pet boarding or doggie day care. He loves to be social and interact with other dogs. I will take my time finding him the right home. It has to be the perfect fit. I will also ask that we keep up on social media so I know he is doing well. I want to be sure that if he isn't a right fit for his new fur-ever home, that you can return him to me for a new placement without any questions. I never want him to be in a shelter or up for adoption at a local pet store etc. There is a $200 rehoming fee to ensure seriousness of new home (this is negotiable based on finding a fur-ever home). He is current on his shots (until Aug 1, 2016), is microchipped and is currently on flea, tick preventive. He will come with his new collar, tags, leash and pet bed. I will supply you with a weeks worth of the food he is currently eating. His Immediate needs based on date of rehoming will be flea, tick and heartworm preventative for ongoing months. He will also need his new shots on or before August 1st (I have a contact for reduced cost shots and checkups) Please feel free to email if you are interested or have any questions. Please share this with anyone you may think is interested. I want to find him a loving home. I am located in Buford, GA Near Mall of Georgia/ North Gwinnett County PS: if this is shared, I don't need nor care for mean comments or opinions . I have rescued my other two girls (dogs) and believe in only rescuing and never buying an animal. I attempted to make this work since August 1, 2015 and when I rescued Sam, he had never been groomed, had large patches of missing hair from flea infestation, had not eaten properly in a very long time and had been abandoned. Sam deserves to be even more happy than he is now, even though it breaks my heart to find him a new home. (Less)

Shih Tzu Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Shih-Tzu is a toy breed similar to the Pekingese. Shih-Tzus are proud little dogs and loaded with personality. Shih-Tzus are gentle and do fine with children who are taught to respect the dogs. Shih-Tzus bark to announce people approaching their homes. Shih-Tzus need early obedience training and may require patience when housebreaking. A Shih-Tzu will do just fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise.
