If you're looking for a guaranteed hypo-allergenic dog, please understand that we have no idea what Ryder's true breed mix is because he was found as a stray with no 'pedigree' attached . . . but when this cute, does it really matter?!?! If you're looking for a happy, playful, adorable companion Ryder is sure to exceed your expectations!!! He's an equal-opportunity cuddle buddy: a super social little guy who loves everyone!! He's been great with the visiting children who know how to behave with small dogs, he rides well in the car, he walks well on the leash -- it's impossible to believe anyone would ever dump him! We think Ryder is about 3 - 4 years old, he weighs just about 14 pounds (the perfect sized lap warmer), and he's a healthy boy. If you have a little room in your home for a sweet boy, please visit www.pinkshelter.com for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting AND neuter included in his $350 adoption fee. Ryder is in Arkansas and transport fee is additional $150. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-05-29-00466Periwinkle (female)|
Periwinkle, Percy and Pearl were the Monday morning surprise for the shelter director: a cardboard box with 3 tiny puppies inside, left on the shelter doorstep overnight. At an overcrowded shelter, owner-surrenders are put down immediately but these 3 babies were so innocent the shelter director just couldn't. So he called a rescue group who took them in and now they're being fostered and given more love and attention than they know what to do with! Please build in extra time when walking Periwinkle because she is so adorable you are bound to be stopped everywhere you go! Could she possibly be any cuter?!! And she is such a silly girl, running off her puppy crazies like a little lunatic until she's so tired she ends up falling over!! She loves her belly rubbed and flips over to show her belly at the slightest glance her way in hopes of yet another belly rub. She is super social with everyone at her foster home: the kids, their friends, the adults, the foster's dog and even the foster's pet pig. And if you pick her up for cuddles, she'll give you a thousand licks in return! Periwinkle is about 4 months old, weighs under 10 pounds and is a very healthy girl. We have no idea what her true mix is, but we know you'll wish there were more of her!! If you can promise Periwinkle a life of spoiling and love, please visit www.pinkshelter.com for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip AND spay included in her $450 adoption fee. Periwinkle is in Arkansas and transport fee is additional $150. Baby Girl came into our rescue several weeks ago along with Chewy (Coco). She'd been living in an empty apartment in Waterbury that had no heat, electricity, or water - and shaggy doesn't even begin to describe her! She's now cleaned up, clipped, and looking adorable - and she's also looking for a wonderful long-term foster or forever home. Baby Girl and Chewy are seniors - Baby Girl is 14 and Chewy is 12. They're both blind because of glaucoma. They're used to living with each other, and we want to keep them together. So we'd like to find a wonderful foster or forever family who can welcome them together into their home. Both dogs are great with other dogs - in fact they gain confidence from other sighted dogs and get around just fine when in their company - and also with children and cats. Baby Girl has one eye that has some fluid building up behind it as a result of the glaucoma and our vet continues to evaluate whether medical intervention is needed. At 14 years old, if he can avoid putting her under anesthesia he'd prefer to do that. Otherwise, these two pups are amazingly healthy and still have a little pep in their step! Let's find Baby Girl and Chewy a totally awesome retirement home! They deserve lots of love and cuddles, and a place to relax and feel safe in their golden years! If they are adopted, we will only consider adopting them as a bonded pair and the adoption fee will be reduced. For more information please email: email@example.com (Less)

Shih Tzu Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Shih-Tzu is a toy breed similar to the Pekingese. Shih-Tzus are proud little dogs and loaded with personality. Shih-Tzus are gentle and do fine with children who are taught to respect the dogs. Shih-Tzus bark to announce people approaching their homes. Shih-Tzus need early obedience training and may require patience when housebreaking. A Shih-Tzu will do just fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise.
