|Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00525Reggie (male)|
Reggie... Reggie came to us months ago neglected, abused and in need of a rescue! We do not know Reggie's past but we do know he was terrorized by children leaving him unsure of children. He also has had something traumatic happen to his back end. Reggie prefers his back end, tail and under his tummy to not be touched. We learned Reggie's quirks early on and we thought after his groom he would be more comfortable but at this point we have learned Reggie. What he likes, what he does not like. He's quirky & he's one incredible pup! He will let you know what he prefers by a growl but don't fear the growl.. he's all talk. Reggie knows what he wants and what he likes ... Reggie is great with other dogs and cats. Reggie is crate trained and house trained. Reggie loves his food and his treats and does not prefer anyone to touch what he likes. Reggie is amazing on the leash and loves to go for long walks. Reggie will want to sit on your lap when he wants to, he's persistent he will not sit still till he is on your lap! Reggie is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm tested and microchipped. Application, home check, reference check, vet check, meet n' greet and adoption fee all apply. CT adoptions only. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-02-20-00083Hannah (female)|
Hannah is an adorable little shih tzu who we pulled from New Britain Animal Control a few months ago. It turned out that Hannah was pregnant! Shortly after coming into our rescue she gave birth to 6 totally adorable little puppies. Hannah has been one terrific mom - and she is also one terrific dog! She is lovable, playful, and just enjoys being part of a family. She gets along well with other dogs, and will also be fine with cats. Hannah also absolutely loves children of all ages :) Because of her pregnancy and then her nursing her puppies, Hannah's vetting and spay surgery had to be postponed. Now that all of her puppies have been weaned, Hannah has be spayed and is current with all vaccines. She is therefore now available for adoption. This sweet little girl will make an absolutely wonderful family member! (Less)

Shih Tzu Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Shih-Tzu is a toy breed similar to the Pekingese. Shih-Tzus are proud little dogs and loaded with personality. Shih-Tzus are gentle and do fine with children who are taught to respect the dogs. Shih-Tzus bark to announce people approaching their homes. Shih-Tzus need early obedience training and may require patience when housebreaking. A Shih-Tzu will do just fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise.
