Watson is a 1.5 yr old boy who loves people and attention. He is scheduled to be neutered on January 8th so will be ready for his forever home soon. One of the cutest boys on the block, and full of character. Enjoys people and other small dogs just fine. Not sure about cats. He is a super sweet boy, who likes to act like a BIG DOG; if big dogs come around....he'll bark and carry on. I am thinking he wouldn't be a candidate with a large dog in the home. We are a 501c3 non profit Rescue. R.A.I.N. Rescue (Rescuing Animals in Need). The dogs/puppies are taken off the website with in 48 hrs of being adopted, SO if you see one that interests you, plz fill out an application. Rescue is desperately seeking foster homes for SMALL dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. We currently need volunteers for these Departments: Foster Homes, Transporters, Groomer, Adoption Center, Donation Station and Fund-raisers. FOSTERING: We take in 'small' dogs, puppies, cats and kittens to foster. The fosters DO NOT pay out of pocket for expenses while fostering ANY animals in our Rescue. This is a common misconception. The Rescue pays for everything necessary. We also accommodate for time away*. *Some of our best fosters have been the winter visitors, who may only be able to take in dogs for 3-4 months. TRANSPORTERS: A person designated to take the dogs and cats for their vetting, (spay/neuter etc), grooming and sometimes to pick up and drop off at adoption events when the fosters are unable to bring them. Transporters may also pick up new strays/owner surrenders etc. and taking them to their foster home. This position will pay mileage. FUND-RAISERS: Anything to help bring in funds to our non-profit Rescue. You will earn 10% of the money brought in to help the animals for each event! GROOMER: A skilled groomer with their own grooming equipment that can groom/bathe/clip nails on small dogs/puppies. We will supply the shampoo/towels etc. We would bring them to your location in the east valley. VOLUNTEERS AT ADOPTION CENTER: Cleaning cat kennels (inside help with cats and kittens weekday days and nights), cat laundry (pick up and drop off), play time with cats, feeding cats, walking dogs, cleaning dog kennels, watering, feeding, quiet petting time and play time with dogs. Okay.. Yeah, this guy is CUTE! His name is Benji. He was a stray that was surrendered to our rescue. Finders had him for a week & posted flyers in the area with no luck. We also courtesy posted his pic all over the web & social media & did not recieve any response. He is believed to be a skye terrier/silky terrier mix. Maybe some carin terrier in there. He's about 1 and a half years old & about 20-25 lbs. Benji is an all around happy guy! & loves everyone! He'd thrive in just about any environment. We think he'd do best in a high activity household/family! He's very social, easily adaptable & just goes with the flow! He is good with other ... (Read More)dogs & small children! He currently lives with 2 cats but sometimes chases them. Good with men & women! He is a stress shedder but with regular grooming we believe the shedding would subside completely or almost completely. He LOVES LOVES LOVES to play. Definitely still has that puppy attitude & will need continued basic training. We're working on potty training using crate training & a doggie door & he's learning quickly. With a little routine & structure this is a GREAT dog anyone would be just blessed to have in their family! His adoption fee has been lowered to $200. Durkin is a very special little guy. He's a young shah tau mix and he's either suffered some sort of trauma or had distemper. He is blind but sees shadows and can follow you around listening to your voice. It doesn't take long for him to master his environment and when you talk to him he'll stand and listen to you with his head cocked to the side. He plays with his toys throwing them in the air and then barking at them. He loves to jump on the mop when you get it out and ride on it like a surfboard. Shih Tzu Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Shih-Tzu is a toy breed similar to the Pekingese. Shih-Tzus are proud little dogs and loaded with personality. Shih-Tzus are gentle and do fine with children who are taught to respect the dogs. Shih-Tzus bark to announce people approaching their homes. Shih-Tzus need early obedience training and may require patience when housebreaking. A Shih-Tzu will do just fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise.
